Re-opened for a brief period to save some of my life. Trying to weed out as much internet life as possible, right now.

Bidding on a custom Technics stereo system (turntable, dual cassette, CD deck, receiver/amplifier and nice speakers) on Ebay. Let's hope this all works out. The projected costs of everything (so cheap, so so soooooo cheap) is so worth the high-ish shipping costs (would be much the same if transported within the city).
Also bought a ridiculous amount of records and CDs? Also for cheap. Also most of which hard to find. Although the "This Heat mini LP" threw me off. It's actually a CD just in one of those cute LP like cases. Anyway, after I won that auction I saw the same copy in an ebay store going for 7x the price I paid. Woooooo.
I love ebay.
It's also subsequently my birthday right now. Hooray!

Got back from Vancouver last night. Much to talk about and do, subsequently. Although, now my mind seems to be in a jumble wanting me to get shit done, which I am... slowly. I am currently reading Herzog by Saul Bellow and it is implanting my ass into my chair as I smoke to many cigarettes and turn the yellowed pages. Inside the cover it says: Joyce Davis, May 1971. I wish she was still here so I could ask if she remembered reading it, and if she liked it, and all of those things. It's always the things you wish you did or wish you could have done. I'm sure she's happy with me in some other place. My grandfather and I had a wonderful weekend. We sat and talked mostly. Watched Doctor Zhivago. At one point I sighed and said I sometimes think I'm the only sane person in my family. He laughed and said I probably was. Spent Sunday - Wednesday in the city, in a wonderful hotel on Davie with a huge balcony view of the city. Me and Spencer found ourselves constantly surrounded by vinyl, no record player in sight, not even a damn CD player in sight, staring at the ominous black television set wondering if we were bored or not. We could also have walked about 3 steps into the bedroom to find another television set. I wouldn't even know where to begin with it. Smoked too many cigarettes... as per usual. Made friends with a seagull to only find he was a chump. Ordered room service. Hung out with Spencer's friends he has. Went out to dinner with my sister and her boyfriend and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be. She kept the conversations going... always her specialty. I'm sure she knew I wouldn't be talking much (never have and never do), so she was left to pry and keep things going. We ate Singaporean and took leftovers we didn't end up eating. Made up some drama, purely innocently. Too many coincidences were overlapping and I needed to make sure. Then we both sighed with relief and laughed (it wasn't plausible in the least). And to finish off the trip we walked along the seawall, smoked an entire joint (the grass there is potent and cheap and delivered) and wandered through the newly reopened portion of Stanley Park. Walked along the beach, sat and stared into the sea. Then we got picked up by the aeroporter and headed home. Spencer is upset because I'm sure he would have much preferred to have had a one-way ticket and to stay and what have you, but he's leaving soon enough.
It is my birthday in 10 days. Celebration!
